Final Workshop Presentation

A badkhn (plural badkhonim) is the traditional ‘master of ceremony’ at weddings and other celebrations in Yiddish culture. Badkhonim are an experts at rhyming in song, and they can create rhymes, poems and declamation in Yiddish on the spot.

This presentation offers a glimpse of the world’s first workshop on this subject, led by the renowned Israeli-Dutch badkhn, vocalist and Yiddish activist, Mendy Cahan. Come and experience the start of a new tradition in Yiddish Summer Weimar and the first steps of a new generation of badkhonim!
